Reservations: RSVP@nextstepshanghai.com or 3126-3780 ***************************************************** NextStep hosts The Green Business Forum, in which leading experts and pioneering business owners have been invited to discuss the mounting problems, and accompanying solutions, posed by the present environmental situation with the wider Shanghai business community. Committed to creating awareness on how to go green, the event is scheduled to coincide with The NextStep Directory’s (www.nextstepdirectory.com) creation of a new category devoted strictly to companies that assist in improving Green Corporate Social Responsibility, and is an opportunity for businesses, small and large, to hear the ideas of, and meet the people behind, the organizations who can advise and aid them in a move to a more environmentally friendly existence. The forum will include panels covering two major topics. Panel one will deal with the Carbon Credit Market, discussing the coming energy crisis in China and shedding light on the complex Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol and how it will effect industrial development, as well as its potential to spurn the growth of Carbon Emission Reduction credit focused businesses in China. Panel two is concerned with How to Make Your Business Green, and will discuss the environmental consequences of business practices, offering ideas on how companies can effect change with a few simple alterations to everyday business routines. An introduction of the Roots & Shoots Eco-Office program will be made with a call to action to register a majority of the companies in attendance for their own free office environmental audit. Speakers come from a range of organizations, including JUCCCE, a non-profit organization whose Light Bulb project donates energy saving compact florescent light bulbs to Shanghai communities and in turn take the reduction in carbon emissions and sell it on the open carbon market; and Roots & Shoots, whose Eco-Office Program offers a free environmental audit for offices, and then creates a plan for it to easily incorporate green standards into its day to day practices.
The NextStep Green Business Forum aims to create environmental awareness, but more importantly preparing people for making change today. 250 RMB Entrance Fee Includes food and drinks
